Ensembles

The Highlands Ranch High School band program is proud to offer several class-based and extra curricular ensembles including two concert bands, jazz band, percussion techniques class, The Falcon Regiment Marching Band, basketball pep band, winter guard, winter percussion, and musical pit orchestra. 

 

Wind Ensemble
The Wind Ensemble is a traditional concert band that rehearses during the school day and is open to all students who complete and pass the audition process. The Wind Ensemble is focused on the study and performance of advanced level musical literature and advanced instrumental techniques

Symphonic Band
The Symphonic Band is a traditional concert band that rehearses during the school day and is open to all students. No audition or experience required. The Symphonic Band is focused on the study and performance of developing level literature and instrumental techniques

Jazz Band
The HRHS Jazz Band is open to all students in the music program and meets once a week after school beginning in November each year. The Jazz Band is focused on the study and performance of jazz literature, improvisation, and composition. If they wish, students may perform on alternate instruments in this ensemble

Percussion Techniques Class
The Percussion Techniques Class is composed of all percussion students in the band program and is focused on the study and performance of percussion specific music and performance techniques. Throughout the year percussion students will be assigned other ensembles with which to perform, including symphonic band. This is also the class for all students who are currently a member of or interested in joining the drumline during the fall semester

Falcon Regiment Marching Band
The Falcon Regiment is an extra-curricular marching ensemble that competes in competitions and performs at home football games throughout the year. The Falcon Regiment is open to all students with no audition or experience required. The ensemble includes all wind and percussion instruments as well as our Color Guard. The Color Guard is the dance and visual focused section of the marching band. They help us bring our shows to life! The Falcon Regiment has a tradition of excellence constantly competing at state competition since 2014 

Basketball Pep Band
Our Basketball Pep Band is open to all students in the band program. The B.P.B. performs at select home boys and girls Basketball games throughout the season as well as pep assemblies

Winter Guard
An extension of our Color Guard program, the Winter Guard is a state level competitive guard ensemble that meets afterschool. The Winter Guard competes throughout the spring semester and performs at pep assemblies and concerts. All are welcome to join this ensemble. No experience required

Winter Percussion
The Winter Percussion Ensemble is a state champion competitive percussion ensemble that competes throughout the spring semester and rehearses after school. The ensemble includes all percussion instruments as well as piano, bass guitar, and marching drums. All are welcome to join this ensemble. No experience required

Musical Pit Orchestra
The Musical Pit Orchestra is composed of students from across the music department who meet after school to rehearse. The Pit Orchestra performs as part of the musical production. Depending on the musical selected, an audition may be required
