“Hello, my name is Kyle Rausch, and it is an honor to become part of the community at Highlands Ranch High School. My wife and I have lived in Highlands Ranch since 2005 and raised our three children here. I have taught band, orchestra, and general music at several schools throughout Colorado. Most recently, I served as Director of Bands at Douglas County High School since 2022. I am passionate about music education, student growth, and building a positive culture where students can thrive both musically and personally. I look forward to working with the students, staff, families, and community at Highlands Ranch High School.”

Ethan Mead

Instrumental Music Director
Cresthill Middle School
Ethan Mead is a Colorado-based music educator who leads the band, orchestra, and guitar programs at Cresthill Middle School, and supports the HRHS Falcon Regiment. A lifelong saxophonist and former high school drum major, Ethan earned his Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Colorado Boulder. He is passionate about providing students with enriching musical experiences. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, climbing, skiing, and exploring Colorado’s beauty.

Chris Nedd
Guard Director
Chris Nedd is the Color Guard Director at HRHS. He has eight + years of performance and five years of teaching experience. He directed and assisted programs at Fountain-Fort Carson High School, The Classical Academy, Evergreen High School, and Falcon High School, each adding to his passion and expertise. Chris is excited to bring his experience and enthusiasm to the HRHS Guard. He looks forward to an incredible season.

Tyler Richardson
Brass Specialist
Tyler Richardson is a music educator and performer based in Denver. He has been on the marching band staff at multiple high schools in the area since 2014 and is excited to support the HRHS band program this year. Tyler received a bachelor’s degree in trumpet performance from Arizona State University and a master’s degree in music education from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Along with teaching brass, he is a full time elementary music instructor in JEFFCO public schools and also enjoys running, bowling, and singing in the Colorado Symphony Chorus.
